WHO: Hi Guys! I'm Jack! A little about me. When I was 6 years old. I lost my mom to cancer. I know first hand how difficult it can be for children and families to deal with grief and loss. Its something that can impact a kid deeply, for the rest of their life. I understand just how important it is to have support, help, and counselling during those incredibly difficult times.
WHAT: Its the reason that I hold the Nightingale Centre in Guelph, Ontario so close to my heart and want to raise money to support what they do. I can't express how important a service like this is. It means so much to me.
WHY: The Nightingale Centre provides bereavement and grief support to children, adolescents, and their families who have experienced, or are anticipating, the death of a family member.
HOW: So! What am I doing to help? We're cooped up in lockdown on Stay-At-Home orders in the middle of a freezing cold winter! I'm going to be BIKING, INDOORS, every day this week AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! February 1 to 7! y goal is to raise ONE DOLLAR for The Nightingale Centre for EVERY KILOMETRE that I ride. The Goal? 400KM in one week. $400 raised.
The Nightingale Centre does unbelievable, powerful work, that is SO vital to the lives of children and other family members. Now, during these difficult, confusing times, more than ever, children need this support. Please donate to support the foundation's continued efforts to provide their services for those in need during a global pandemic.
I'm typing this around noon on Monday. We are 27.7KM into this week already, with another ride still to come today. I'm going to be getting up early in the morning and biking late into the night to log as many kilometres as POSSIBLE! I'll be posting updates to my instagram (@jacksimmons7)! Lets raise some money for an incredible cause through an unbelievable organization!
THANK YOU! For your interest and support! It really means the world to me. Donate now to be a part of something really cool and special.
