They’re the definition of a self made couple. From hard work, challenging seasons of life, and consistent dedication. They truly have earned everything they have created. This home was their entire universe. They lost it all.

Dearest Friends~ I’d like to start with saying this has been a challenging thing to write, as everyone around us is going through something similar. It’s hard to put into words and decide if a go-fund me was a good idea. David and Dawn, would never ask for a thing. They have poured their hearts and souls into their beautiful close-knit community in Big Rock. Their journey took a devastating turn with the onset of the Palisades fire, which ravaged homes and lives in its wake. David, a dedicated real estate agent in the Palisades, has witnessed the destruction of countless homes, making this a profoundly unsettling time for all.

Dawn, a talented artist and interior designer known for her exquisite handmade creations, faced an additional burden just before the fire struck—she’s been grappling with chronic nerve pain from a medical procedure, which isn’t covered by insurance. They have been using everything extra that they have to get her mobility back. This has left her struggling to fully use her hands, compounding the heartbreak of losing her cherished livelihood in the fire.

David and Dawn are the embodiment of warmth and generosity, always welcoming others with open arms and treating everyone like family. Their home was not just a house; it was a sanctuary for many. Now, as they navigate this unimaginable loss alongside their neighbors, their resilience shines through, even when they would never ask for support.

It’s been challenging to articulate their plight, especially as countless others in our community are also suffering. They are always giving back to the community and I’d love to be able to gift them some of that support in return. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragedy.
