Carrying Love Forward: A Birthday Fundraiser for My Mom’s Legacy

Every August is special to me. My birthday is August 18, and my mom’s heavenly birthday is August 27. This month is always about love, family, and legacy.

Spelman College connects us both. My mom dedicated her work to Spelman, and I was blessed to graduate from there. Because of that shared bond, I created an endowed scholarship in her name—a way to keep her light shining and to open doors for future Spelman women.

This isn’t just about remembering my mom. It’s about continuing what she started: pouring into others so they can dream bigger, do more, and lead with love.
