Help Us Cool Down Our Shelter Dogs – They’re Overheating!

At Southeast Volusia Humane Society, we are in crisis mode. Despite sunshades, misting systems, and large industrial fans, our dog kennels are still unbearably hot. These brutal summer temperatures are putting our animals at serious risk.

We urgently need your help to bring relief.

We recently purchased one swamp cooler, and it’s already making a huge difference — but we are only scratching the surface. To effectively cool the entire kennel run in our main adoption building, plus the holding areas for dogs not yet on the adoption floor, we desperately need five more units.

Why Swamp Coolers?

Unlike fans that just move hot air around, swamp coolers actively cool and humidify the environment, dropping the temperature by 10–15 degrees or more — exactly what our dogs need to stay safe and comfortable.
