Hi everyone! My name is Ford and I am a veterinary technician who works with rescues fostering kittens. I mainly help with kittens who need to be bottle fed. I was brought 3 kittens around the beginning of April '24. I have watched these babies grow from helpless creatures the size of a plum, to 4 pound spaz attacks! They are named after professors from Hogwarts...Sirius, Minerva, and Severus! They are almost ready to go back into the shelter for adoption. A week ago I noticed Severus had some cloudiness in one of his eyes. I brought him in to work with me to see the veterinarian I work with and he has been diagnosed with juvenile cataracts. They are in both eyes, but one is more significant than the other.

The good news is, this is totally treatable. The bad news is it is surgical and will cost anywhere from $4-5k!!!

The shelter I foster for is a relatively smaller shelter, who will be hit hard by the cost of a work up and surgery with a specialist.

They are old enough to be placed for adoption, but we all know how hard it is going to be to place a kitten who needs an expensive surgery. So I am asking for help so we can give little Severus his best chance at keeping his eyesight, and the ability to be placed in a home without becoming a financial issue for whoever falls in love with him!

Urgent Fundraiser for Van Gogh the Kitten!

Meet Van Gogh, a brave kitten rescued from a car engine with a severely torn and damaged ear. He underwent life-saving surgery at the Emergency Animal Hospital, but sadly, his ear had to be removed, leaving him deaf in one ear.

Now, we urgently need your support. The cost of Van Gogh's surgery and post-op care is $1,500, and we can't do it without you!

URGENT CAMPAIGN: HELP SAVE JANE AND SUPPORT HER KITTENS AT OUR NO KILL SHELTER!

Dear compassionate animal lovers,

We come to you with an urgent plea for help! Jane, a brave mother cat, gave birth to seven adorable kittens on July 23rd at Southeast Volusia Humane Society. However, her joy quickly turned into a nightmare when she faced life-threatening complications. We rushed her to the emergency hospital on the night of July 25th, where our worst fears were confirmed – Jane's uterus had burst, causing a massive infection throughout her body.

Emergency Surgery: Jane underwent a critical emergency surgery to save her life. Thanks to the dedicated veterinarians, the surgery was successful, but her journey to recovery is far from over.

Stabilizing Jane: As we write this, Jane is still in the hospital, bravely fighting to heal and return to her kittens. Our team is working tirelessly to stabilize her condition and bring down her fever.

Kittens' Journey: Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we have good news to share! Three of Jane's kittens have been accepted by another nursing mom, who is providing them with the love and care they need to thrive. Additionally, the other four kittens are under the loving care of a dedicated foster mom, who is bottle-feeding them around the clock.

➡️ OUR NO KILL STRUGGLE: We are a NO KILL shelter, which means we are committed to giving animals like Jane and her kittens a second chance at life. However, our mission is not without its challenges. Providing life-saving emergency care like Jane's comes with significant financial burdens.

Want to join me in making a difference? 7 year old Kaos (don’t let the name fool you) is in urgent need of a third, and hopefully, final oral surgery. As a No Kill Shelter that is donation based, we have to raise funds to cover the high costs associated with some of these lifesaving procedures. Kaos had once belonged to a happy family and when his owner died, he was passed to somebody that basically left him tied up outside for two years and he was in horrible condition when he was eventually surrendered to our shelter. Since taking him in, we discovered that his mouth was in horrible shape, he had to have extractions and had such terrible infections that went up into his sinus cavity. Currently his bill is at $2,000 and he needs one final oral surgery that will be done at the same time that he is neutered. We are working on getting his skin issues under control and he’s currently being spoiled rotten in a loving foster home. We need to raise $3,000 for this courageous pup that deserves a new lease on life. PLEASE HELP US GET TO OUR GOAL ….
