Help Give Hope to Orphans at Mama Helen Orphanage in Ghana

Hello friends and family,

I’m reaching out to you today with a heavy heart but also with hope. As many of you know, helping vulnerable children has been a calling on my life for many years. Today, I’m asking for your help to support a cause that is very dear to me — Mama Helen Orphanage in Ghana.

Mama Helen Orphanage is a sanctuary for children who have faced unimaginable hardships. These precious children, full of dreams and potential, are growing up without the love, care, and basic necessities that every child deserves. The orphanage is doing all it can, but the needs are overwhelming — and I can’t do this alone.

We are aiming to raise $12,000 to cover Mama Helen Orphanage’s expenses for the rest of the year. With monthly expenses of $1,200, this amount will ensure the children have food, shelter, and care over the next 12 months.

But right now, there are urgent needs that require immediate attention:

Beds for the children - Many of these children are currently sleeping on mats on the cold, hard floors. We desperately need to buy beds and mattresses to give them a safe and comfortable place to rest.

Nutritious meals - The children are suffering from food deficiencies and are growing weaker every day. Without proper meals, they are becoming sicker, more vulnerable, and unable to thrive. Your donation can help provide balanced, healthy food.

New uniforms - Education is a path out of poverty, but many of the children don't even have proper uniforms to attend school. We want to give them the dignity and confidence of having clean, well-fitted uniforms.

Medical care and transport - Some of the children are currently facing serious medical issues and need to be transported regularly to the city for treatment. This is costly, but essential to ensure they get the care they need to survive and heal.

When Mama Helen Teni started this orphanage, she didn’t anticipate the immense needs and costs that would come with caring for so many children. Close friends and family have been doing everything they can to help, but the financial burden is becoming too much for a very small team to bear alone.

While the cost to support the orphanage is $1,200 a month, we are urgently seeking funding for these immediate needs — to ensure the children are fed, healthy, and sleeping in proper beds.

But beyond these pressing concerns, we dream of a future where these children can become self-sufficient. One of our long-term projects is to start a farm, where the children can learn farming skills while growing their own food — teaching them independence and providing fresh produce for the orphanage.
