My name’s Maaz Khan, and along with my partner, Darsh Patel, we founded Chapters for Change because we believe in the transformative power of books—and that small acts can make a big difference. We collect lightly used books from our community, sell them at deeply discounted prices, and donate all the proceeds to nonprofits doing meaningful work. One such organization is Grace Centers of Hope, a faith-based nonprofit in Pontiac that provides sanctuary, life-skills education, recovery support, and a genuine chance at rebuilding life for men, women, and children facing homelessness, addiction, and abuse. We started this GoFundMe campaign because their mission—offering hope, healing, and long-term support without relying on government funding—deserves amplification. By raising funds directly, our small nonprofit can help extend the reach of Grace Centers of Hope’s programs—making homes, meals, therapy, and a path to independence possible for more people who need it most.
