Hi my name is Gillian and I am "walking" from Leicester to Family Futures CIC in London. 180,000 steps! As I will explain below these steps will all happen on the stairs of my house - for now only on the bottom step - as part of my rehab after a nasty accident.

**UPDATE** 05.02.26

I am allowed to walk outside finally after 4 months of rehab at home. So relieved as to be honest the stepping was slow progress both physically and in terms of my boredom level! I am now only 20,500 steps in so need to start making some better progress for such a good cause!

Who is Gillian?

I am the lone disabled adopter of two beautiful and smart teenagers who have been part of my family for almost 15 years. Sadly in September 2025, already having limited mobility, I fell and broke my hip, leading to surgery and a long stay in hospital. I am struggling with my recovery due to my fairly extensive health conditions.

To give myself some more motivation and something to aim for on the long road (literally) to being able to walk confidently again I am raising money for the wonderful Family Futures CIC. I will donate funds myself to cover any fees from GoFundMe so 100% of your donation with go to the organisation.

Over many years we have had outstanding support from Family Futures CIC.
