Hi, I'm Alicia McCubbins, and my family is passionate about addressing food insecurity. Our neighbors need us more than ever- the loss of food stamps and vital resources on a national level is an urgent matter. Access to food is a human rights issue, and our most vulnerable community members need us to step up.
We are hosting a neighborhood food drive, collecting donations from neighbors' doorsteps on November 16. We will bring all donations to Birch Community Services. All funds from this gofundme will go directly to them as well. https://www.birchcommunityservices.org/
Birch Community Services addresses the roots of hunger and economic hardship in our community of Portland, Oregon through:
- Supplying groceries and household items to save money in order to pursue financial goals
- Providing financial courses and one-on-one meetings to educate and advise on how to effectively achieve financial goals
- Creating a community of dignity and accountability through participants volunteering together
