First and second parts of donations have been sent to Aman, proof found in the media :)
Aman, his mom and his dog (Galia)
Hey, my name is Thibaut Coppens and I'm starting a fundraiser for my friend Aman Santiago.
Aman is 26, lives in Bogota, Colombia AKA 'La nevera' (The fridge) with his mom, sister and her youngest child.
Aman is one of the unfortunate young guys of Colombia that is stuck in a loop of 'trying to help out his family while wanting to create a life for himself'. A man who tries to help his family financially, even though he is not supposed to, a victim of bad decisions not made by himself.
Aman is educated, speaks English, is dedicated to grow and become someone he himself can be proud of. Working 2-3 jobs at the same time, you can imagine there is not a lot of room nor time to work on his own projects. And then on top of that he sustains the house financially, which makes it almost impossible to get out of his situation, therefore I decided to create a fundraiser.
Some context to his story:
Aman's sister unfortunately holds everyone down in the house, a story of bad decisions and not being responsible for her actions. Having a child but not having a place to stay, therefore she stays where Aman and his mom are living. His mom is sick, treatment is expensive, and after multiple times of not being able to pay rent, water has been closed off so many times, him having to take showers and going to the toilet in the gym 2 blocks away.. It just hurts my heart to see them living like this, I spent new year with them, the humility and openness they received me with is unbelievable, the fact that they don't have anything to spare and still invite me to their home to spend new year together..
Now, because of debt they are getting kicked out of the house in 3 weeks and are looking for a new place to stay, where they can have a fresh start. Aman would like to make sure his mom is fine in the new place, and after that find his own space, where he can start building his life.
The funds will be used for finding a new place for his mom, his sister and her child. The rest will go to Aman, to find his own place to rent.
The little bits help, for you it might not seem much, but for them, for Aman, it means the world.
Since GoFundMe doesn’t support withdrawals in Colombia, I (based in Belgium) will transfer all funds to him via Paypal, I will post updates with pictures of proof.
If you rather send him money directly, this is his Paypal: @TheVibe693
Much love and thank you <3
