In Loving Memory of Harvey: A Beacon of Light Lost Too Soon.

On a quiet Friday evening, December 13th, the world lost a truly remarkable soul. Harvey, a devoted father, loving partner, and cherished friend, was tragically taken from us in a car accident while simply making his way home to the family he loved so deeply.

He leaves behind Lizzie, the love of his life, their children, Marilyn 11, Rupert 4 and Rory, just 18 months, along with loving close family members and friends.

Harvey’s life was one of connection—connection to his family, his community, and the natural world that inspired him. He lived simply but profoundly, guided by his passion for nature, the healing wisdom of mushrooms, and the regenerative power of the earth. He believed in the quiet strength of masculinity rooted in care, responsibility, and love. Only just 30, he had already left an indelible mark on the lives of so many around him, embodying a spirit of generosity and wisdom far beyond his years.

As a father, Harvey was everything his three young children could ever need—present, nurturing, and endlessly proud of their growth and curiosity. As a partner, he stood steadfast by his beloved, offering love and strength in equal measure. In his community, Harvey was a quiet leader, a man who gave without hesitation and believed in the power of togetherness.

I had the honour of knowing Harvey through two men’s retreats in recent years. There, in circles of vulnerability and healing, Harvey shared himself fully. His presence was a gift, his insights a source of strength for all who gathered. He reminded us of the beauty of being human and the power of embracing both our struggles and our blessings.

The loss of Harvey is not just a tragedy for his family but for everyone who knew him and those who never had the chance to meet him. His family now faces an unfathomable journey—a future without the man who was their centre, their rock, their light.

We come to you, not only in grief but with hope. Hope that, as a community, we can rally around Harvey’s family the way he would have rallied for any of us. They need our support—financially, emotionally, and spiritually—as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

There are considerable financial burdens for the family to navigate, monthly rent, family food, the upkeep of a smallholding, as well as a funeral later in January set to cost more than £5k.
