About Me
My name is Shaurya and I am a Boy Scout in Troop 7 in South Pasadena, California. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project.
About the Project
As part of my journey to Eagle Scout, I will be building a Native Pollinator Garden at the El Sereno Community Garden in Los Angeles.
This project will:
- Replace invasive weeds with California native plants
- Provide food & habitat for local pollinators like butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees
- Beautify the garden for community members
- Engage community on sustainable gardening and biodiversity
Why It Matters
Pollinators are vital to our ecosystem, but their habitats are shrinking. By planting California natives such as poppies, lupine, and manzanita, this project will:
- Improve biodiversity in the garden
- Support pollination of fruits & vegetables grown by families in the community garden
- Create an educational space for the community
How You Can Help
Your support will help cover:
- Cost of native plants & shrubs
- Preparing the soil for planting
- Irrigation system for native garden
- Plant markers and other supplies to support the volunteers
100% of the money raised through this fundraising will be used for El Sereno Community Garden.
