My name is Jordan, and recently I lost everything. I was laid off from my job in April, along with 60% of the company. I have done everything I can to keep my son and I afloat: I had to use all of my savings and severance to save our home and our car, I applied to over 400 job postings, did as many side gigs as I could. But unfortunately, that wasn’t enough and now we have lost both of them. We were evicted from our apartment of 10 years 2 months ago, my car has broken down and is in the repossession stage, we no longer have SNAP benefits, and I need help. I’ve tried to do this on my own, I’ve tried to be strong, and I’ve explored every avenue and resource available. But I don’t feel like I have any strength left in me.

I understand how difficult life is right now for everyone, and I feel guilty even making this. I’ve never felt this vulnerable before.

I was finally able to land a job, and I start that soon. But my current “living situation” is not sustainable and is coming to a close. My son and I need permanent shelter and a car so we can get him to and from school.
