I have become aware of a need in my local community that requires immediate financial help. Names and details must be withheld to protect their tenuous situation. A parent with a non-verbal special needs adult has been locked in a very expensive custody battle with the other parent for over 5 years. The custodial parent has fought tirelessly to protect their vulnerable child, and the court decisions have not been in their favor.

During a recent court-ordered visitation at the non-custodial parent’s home, a possible criminal event took place that resulted in orders of protection against members of that household. The custodial parent finally has an opportunity to PERMANENTLY protect the most vulnerable child they have. The only thing standing in the way of progress and safety is money for court and attorney fees to the tune of $5,000.00.
