This GoFundMe is for Jennifer Farrell. She was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia 3 years ago.
Primary progressive aphasia (PPA) is a type of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) where symptoms primarily involve progressive language and communication decline, manifesting as difficulty with speaking, understanding, reading, or writing. It worsens over time and can eventually involve other symptoms of FTD, such as behavioral changes, mood shifts, and movement issues. This disease is a progressive neurological disease that affects a person's ability to understand and use language. There is currently no cure for this disease.
She has had to stop working and sell her vehicle due to issues with managing her job and driving. At the age of 52, her life has completely changed. The disease has progressed to the point that she is working on a plan to move into an assisted living facility. She is in the process of being approved for a waiver and special disabled Medicaid that will help pay for her care. However, the facility that she would like to move to requires a $2000 fee in order to secure a room. There is an urgent need for her to pay the fee as soon as possible so that she can move. With her current monthly income, she is unable to save the money in the next month. She is currently living in a rented room at a house with roommates and needs to move as soon as possible in order to obtain the care that she needs. Any amount that you could donate would help pay for her entry fee.
