Support Foska's Path to Legal Status & Stability

Foska has called the United States home for the majority of their life (20+years). This is where they grew up, built relationships, attended college, and found community. Despite living here for so long their immigration status remains the same. Foska has been a DACA receipient for 12 years but recently became eligible to apply for adjustment of status (green card). Foska is currently unemployed and facing serious financial barriers that are preventing them from completing their application.

More on Foska's Story

Although Foska has put themselves through school, is highly educated; they experienced a period of unemployment in 2024 after losing their long-time job due to a lapse in DACA coverage after USCIS delayed their most recent approval by 11 months. During this time Foska used their savings and emergency funds to support themselves. They never once asked for outside aid and have not had the chance to rebuild their safety nets. Although they worked for a few months after finally receiving their approval Foska has been recently laid off by their small-business employer. This has left Foska in a vulnerable position.

They began their application process before funds became limited and are currently asking for help to cover the rest of their application so they can focus on applying to new jobs, paying their rent, bills, and no longer worry their application may be denied due to inactivity.

Your donation will go directly toward covering application costs. If certain goals are met Foska may also be able to afford a lawyer which they currently see as a luxury. If there are any additional funds raised beyond their goal it will be donated to the National Immigrant Justice Center.
