His name is Darwin Contreras. He was a 7 year old when he arrived in the US. On both attempts coming here he saw horrific things: dead bodies, even acts of prostitution just to name a few. When he arrived to the US on his second attempt he didn't meet his mother he was met with officer and case worker and was sent to a detention center and a few weeks after to a foster home. Still not with his mother was sent to court. And they found each other somehow. A miracle. Darwin grew up in Bethlehem attend elementary school and won awards. In middle school even won an award from the president Barack Obama a fitness award. This boy was turning into an athletic man with dreams of pursuing soccer as a career. His senior year he unfortunately had to drop out and get a job. So instead he picked up track and field. In the spring of track of field. He won MVP award he motivated his teammates to go hard during practice and to never stop. after graduating high school he got a job and continued to work hard. He had a relationship that ended with a daughter and a little bit after that he met me, his wife, Elizabeth DeJesus. He is 27 and I'm 22. we got married in March on The ninth of this year we were working on getting his citizenship afterwards we had a meeting with our lawyer the Thursday before his final court proceeding for ARD.The lawyer had said ICE are in courthouses and are taking people before, during, and after court proceedings. We asked if there was any way we could attend without having to be there. He said no it wouldn't be a good moral character to not be there. Came June 24 after our court proceeding our lawyer had said to wait outside the courtroom for him, we waited for what seem to be a minute and a sheriff's deputy approached us saying that Darwin would come with him and open the door to two ice agents wearing something you can get from Walmart. After his arrest, I was not told where he was until 5 o'clock that night. I have been able to keep in contact with him. I have seen him at the jail. His bail hearing should be soon and I would like to be prepared. Bail has been set from anywhere to 8000 to 25,000. I am working and I do have a little bit of money saved, but I do also have to pay rent and other bills since Darwin was head of household.
