My name is Irma, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. For years, I’ve been a stay-at-home mom devoted to raising my four beautiful children. Behind closed doors, however, my marriage has been abusive. After a long and painful struggle, I’ve finally found the strength to leave and build a safer life for myself and my children.

Walking away isn’t simple; especially when you’ve been financially dependent and isolated for so long. I am starting from zero, and everything feels overwhelming… but I’m determined. My children deserve peace. They deserve safety. They deserve stability. And I’m fighting for that with everything I have.
