Incorporated in the State of Illinois, The Amit Promise Foundation, an organization exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3), is raising money to build a critically needed Primary Hospital in Embasneity, Tigray, Ethiopia.

Located in the northern part of Ethiopia, Embasneity is home to more than 100,000 God-fearing and hard-working people. Yet this population faces perpetual problems—chief among them is a dire health care shortage. The women who give life are too often losing their own. Every mother should be able to welcome her child into the world with joy, not fear of death. In this region, however, childbirth can be a life-threatening journey. Too many women die during delivery due to preventable complications and the absence of vital prenatal care.

But it is not only mothers who suffer. The entire population—children with high fevers, accident victims in urgent need of surgery, elderly patients battling chronic diseases, and families facing medical emergencies—lacks timely access to skilled care. The World Health Organization recommends at least 10 doctors for every 10,000 people. In Embasneity, there is only one generalist doctor—sometimes none—serving more than 100,000 people. The gap is devastating, and the consequences are measured in lives lost.

Across Tigray, countless towns and rural communities face the same heartbreaking reality, mainly due to recurrent wars in the region. Together with your support, the Amit Promise Foundation, established in Amit’s honor, is committed to solving this problem—one place at a time—starting from Nebelet/Embasneity and building outward from there. Inspired by the late Amit’s compassion and care for others and to fulfill the Promise, we will diligently work to bring health, hope, and dignity to the people in the region and beyond.

Including surrounding districts, the hospital will provide services to more than 500,000 people:

• Lifesaving maternal and child health services

• Emergency care for injuries and critical illnesses

• Inpatient and outpatient departments for patients of all ages

• A fully equipped laboratory and diagnostic imaging services

• Skilled, safe, and modern environment for healing

This hospital will mean mothers no longer have to risk their lives to give birth, children will receive urgent treatment, and men and women alike will have a place to turn to in times of need.
