I have a friend who needs help. Rook is a remarkably strong and faithful woman and has worked hard. But the school of hard knocks has visited one too many times. This isn’t the first time she’s had to start over … due to an abusive husband.

Right now, she is on unpaid FMLA leave - so no income - pending surgery to explore a concerning mass in her abdomen. So there may be some follow up medical bills. She needs some car repairs. Most importantly she has to start over, and furnish an apartment for she and her 4 boys.

I am hoping the friends and colleagues that I’ve been privileged to know can each do what Supertramp said we should: "Give a little bit." If I can get just 100 people to give $20, we will reach the goal.

But if you can give more, I hope you will. This will be a long road.

Not only does Rook need it, I think she really deserves it.
