November is Native American Heritage Month! It's a month to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, cultures, and progress Native people have accomplished.

One organization that has supported generations of Indigenous peoples and Seattleites as a whole is the Seattle Indian Center. The SIC provides Hot meals, a day center, new clothes, showers, housing, and more for the Seattle Community! When my family and I were younger, they had a Holiday Gift Drive program that supported us and dozens of other Native families in the Seattle area. Due to budget cuts, this program hasn't existed for over a decade.

For the past five years, though, thanks to you all, that has been changing!

Every year since 2020, we have surpassed the previous year's fundraising.

With more funding, we have expanded the number of families we work with and have been able to buy more expensive gifts that kids want! Additionally, we have partnered with other organizations and tribes to find families that would benefit from this program. We want to thank Mother Nation and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe!

We will be collecting donations until 12/15, and once again using GoFundMe to collect donations. I am happy to answer any questions along the way and will be posting updates about this fundraiser. If you know a family that may benefit, please have them contact me.
