My name is Shemeka, currently living in Massachusetts. I grew up in Farm District, Whitehouse, Westmoreland. Hurricane Melissa made landfall in our community, tearing down all board houses, ripping zinc roofs and shingle roofs apart from every house. The damage is stark: my home was torn in half, and my roof was completely ripped off. I have lost everything I’ve owned.

The cost of rebuilding, replacing essential items, and providing food and water, not just for myself but for my family members and others who suffered from Hurricane Melissa back home, is overwhelming. Ensuring that no one goes hungry or without clean drinking water while we recover is my priority. I’ve always helped my family and friends, but this time I’m asking for a little help, please.
