Please help support our Village!

My name is Elizabeth, and I live in the Village of Shoal Creek Estates and am one of the Village board of trustees. We, the Trustees of the Village, have been working to upkeep the Village infrastructure. Residents may have noticed in May 2025 that the two major roads in our village were repaved at last! We would love to be able to repave all of the smaller roads throughout the Village as well as was initially intended. We need to raise $1700 to pay our utilities for the rest of the 2025 year, due to using the majority of our funds for the repaving done in May 2025. Then, we need to raise an additional $20,000 to be able to repave all of the smaller roads throughout the village, in Spring of 2026.

A closer look at the Numbers:

Multiple bids were obtained for repaving all of the Village roads. The best bid that covered all of the roads was $117,000. As we did not have those funds readily available, we looked at just paving the two major roads. This was bid at $96,000. Through some savvy negotiation by our Village Chairman, this was negotiated down to $84,000, which was thankfully within our means.

The board approved use of the funds for repaving at the April 2025 board meeting, with the knowledge that we would need to fund raise in order to meet our utility payment needs for the rest of the year.

Prior to repaving in May 2025, the Village account had roughly $86,000. We now have roughly $2,000 to pay our Village utility bills for the remainder of the year to keep our lights on.

Again, we need an additional $1,700 to be able to cover our utility bills for the rest of the year.

To meet our goal to repave all of the smaller Village roads in the Spring of 2026, we need to raise an additional $20,000.

Village residents, visitors, and delivery vehicles now benefit from a smoother ride on the main roads and keeping the village maintained should reflect positively on all villagers' property values.

Currently, our only form of revenue for Village upkeep is via taxes, which are as high as is allowable and will be collected from residents next year.

We have 31 homes in this Village. If everyone donated $700, we could meet our goal. I know this may not be possible for everyone, but truly every little bit will help! Thank you supporting our Village! <3
