Hi, my name is Dave Settle and I am chair of Banbury Symphony Orchestra. I'm fundraising to raise money for a gift to recognise the 60 years that Robert Gilchrist has been playing with the orchestra.

Robert first started to play with the orchestra in 1964, firstly in the cello section, and then moving to lead the double bass section in 1988. He has been a regular with the orchestra now for over 60 years, and is still playing with us even though he has past his 90th birthday. Robert has made a very significant contribution to the life of the orchestra, both during rehearsals and in the concerts, and in recognition of this the committee would like to purchase a gift for him.
