My name is Jo-Ainne Murray and I currently live in the United States. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. My home community is Westmoreland Parish, which was devastated by the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa. Our family has a lengthy history in the Parish, with a number of our family members and friends still living within the communities. I grew up in the small town of Grange Hill, and my husband, Dwayne Murray, is from Brighton. My husband and I, including our two children, travel to Jamaica at least twice per year, right back to our roots in our home parish of Westmoreland.
We are heartbroken to see the devastation experienced, especially by family and friends who lost everything in Westmoreland, St. Elizabeth, St. James, Trelawny, Hanover, Manchester, and St. Ann. Going through a natural disaster is never easy. We feel it is absolutely necessary to provide immediate financial support to our hometown of Westmoreland Parish. This will help to rebuild those hard-hit communities. Our goal is to help repair and rebuild communities within my home parish by assisting with providing food, clothing, home repairs, communication access, and other important essentials.
We will ensure that transparency is upheld throughout this process. Your donations will help as many families as possible in and around our communities. Every donation will go a long way in assisting individuals and communities to rebuild. Thank you in advance for helping in this very important initiative.
Blessings and Love - Jo-Ainne & Dwayne
