Hello, my name is Quintina Texidor, and I am the maternal grandmother of a loving five-year-old boy who has been in my care since birth. For five beautiful years, my grandson has known my home in Winsted, Connecticut, as his safe, loving, and stable world.

Recently, a sudden and heartbreaking legal action removed him from the only home and family he has ever known. I am now fighting a complicated custody battle that has moved between Connecticut’s Probate and Superior Courts — all to bring my grandson back home where he belongs.

On August 28, 2025, I filed for temporary custody to protect him and maintain the stability he deserves. The court initially granted my request, recognizing our strong bond and his lifelong home with me. However, later that night 8pm the Department of Children and Families (DCF) intervened and removed him from my home, even though the court order had placed him in my care.

This sudden decision left our family heartbroken and in shock. Despite the pain, I am working closely with attorneys to fight this legal battle and ensure my grandson’s well-being, safety, and stability.

Unfortunately, the ongoing legal fees, court filings, and expert evaluations have become overwhelming. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
