Hi everyone, this Thanksgiving, I’m launching a small community project to make a real difference. With your help, I’ll purchase, cook, and distribute warm meals to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in our area (and beyond).
Why this matters now:
According to the latest data, more than 771,480 people in the U.S. experienced homelessness on a single night in January 2024 — that’s about 23 of every 10,000 Americans.
One of the biggest drivers is the affordability crisis: there are only 37 affordable homes for every 100 extremely low-income renters, and many low-wage households spend more than half their income on rent ... making them vulnerable to losing housing.
Federal food-aid support through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is currently in flux due to recent events, with benefit payments delayed or uncertain for many households.
I want to step in with an immediate, local-action approach: prepare hot meals, build community, and show tangible kindness.
What your donation will do:
Every dollar donated will go directly toward ingredients and preparation/distribution costs. My goal is to raise $1,000 so we can serve roughly 250 meals, God willing, on or around Thanksgiving.
I’ll be transparent: I’ll post photos and updates of the food purchased, the cooking in action, and the meals delivered. Because your support deserves to be seen in real impact.
How you can help:
Donate whatever amount you’re comfortable with.
Share this link and my sticker :) with friends, colleagues, and family.
Follow along on updates. I’ll post after purchase, cooking day, and delivery.
Thank you so much for helping make this Thanksgiving season brighter for people who need a warm meal and a reminder they matter.
With gratitude, and may God bless you always
