Pride House Tokyo: Tokyo Marathon 2025
Donation protected
I am thrilled to share that I’ll be running in the 2025 Tokyo Marathon in March to raise funds for Pride House Tokyo, an LGBTQ community center in Japan.
If you already know my work with organizations like the Stonewall Foundation and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, then you also know how incredibly important it is for me to support safe spaces for people to be their authentic self! ♂️️
Pride House Tokyo is a vital safe space, offering support, resources, and a place of belonging to LGBTQ individuals in Japan. Your support will assist our community members overseas.
AND...if you've been following my personal running journey over the past decade you'll know this is my last of the 6 World Major Marathons! NYC (2017), Chicago (2019), Berlin (2021), Boston (2021), London (2022)....and now Tokyo. Which means when I cross that finish line in March, I'll receive my Six Star Medal from Abbott Labs WMM organizers - a dream I've been chasing since that rainy 2017 morning in New York!
Now, here’s what you might be asking:
Q: "Brandon, I've supported you in fundraising before and usually you have a direct link to the charity. Why don't you have one this year?"
A: "Well, in short the Tokyo Marathon operates a bit differently. In order to get a charity bib you must pre-commit to a set fundraising amount (mine was $2500 USD) and fulfill that commitment within two weeks. Since that doesn't leave much time to raise the funds, runners typically front the donation and have the option to fundraise independently."
Okay, now that you're caught up, you can donate here. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, goes to supporting me and my fundraising endeavor this year. Any amount collected over my initial donation will also be made as a full independent donation to Pride House Tokyo.
Please reach out with any follow up questions, or if you just want to cheer me. Your encouragement fuels my determination!
