Casa Mestre Ananias, located in the heart of Bixiga, is a point of cultural resistance, a space dedicated to the preservation of capoeira, music, dance, and Brazilian folklore. For year, the house has survived thanks to the collective effort of the community: through attendance at rodas and events, through the helping hands, and through the contributions of those who recognize the importance of keeping this heritage alive.

Casa Mestre Ananias offers a variety of cultural and educational activities focusing on Afro-Brazilian traditions, especially Capoeira and Samba de Roda. The space hosts weekly capoeira circles, samba de roda workshops, music (guitar, cavaquinho), theater, dance, and integrated arts such as ceramics, painting, and recycling, for children, youth, and adults.

It also develops social projects with free scholarships for children and adolescents in public schools, promotes oral culture education activities, and holds traditional festivals, cultural gatherings, and community outreach activities. The space is known for its welcoming, family-like atmosphere, and intergenerational exchange, keeping Mestre Ananias's legacy alive.

Casa Mestre Ananias is much more than a physical space — it is a place where generations meet, learn, share, and strengthen community bonds.
