Donate to Peter's Life Altering Liver Treatment

My name is Emma, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt request on behalf of my dad, Peter, and our family. For the past five years, we have been navigating the challenges of my dad’s battle with cryptogenic liver disease with hepatic encephalopathy. My mother, Aileen, has dedicated herself full time as his primary caregiver, and Maureen, my sister, and I are both deeply involved in his care too.

Peter is now 60 years old, and his condition has progressed to the point where he requires full-time care, frequent hospital visits, numerous appointments, and ongoing medications. We are working closely with Duke University Medical Center and his medical team to provide him with the essential care, medication, and treatments he needs, and we are hopeful for a much needed liver transplant.

Unfortunately, the financial burden of his chronic health issues, combined with the loss of income during his illness, has been overwhelming. Many of the expenses related to his care, including those associated with preparing for a potential transplant and hopefully post-surgery recovery, are not covered by insurance. Aileen has been his constant support and caregiver through this difficult time.
