This is for Orion Loockerman, a 3-year-old with Anti-MDA5 Juvenile Dermatomyositis. JDM alone is an autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and skin rash. His subtype, however, causes rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease where his lungs are also under attack. He recently had a big scare where his chances were low without a lung transplant. He has begun to recover, where the lung transplant may not be necessary. Family and friends have helped us through a lot, but he still has a long road to recovery and will have to be on medicine for the rest of his life.
