<div>This is for <strong>Orion Loockerman, a 3-year-old with Anti-MDA5 Juvenile Dermatomyositis</strong>. JDM alone is an autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and skin rash. His subtype, however, causes rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease where his lungs are also under attack. <strong>He recently had a big scare where his chances were low without a lung transplant.</strong> He has begun to recover, where the lung transplant may not be necessary. Family and friends have helped us through a lot, but he still has a long road to recovery and will have to be on medicine for the rest of his life.
