The UVA Track & Field and Cross Country teams are participating in Operation Christmas Child as part of a UVA Athletics–wide initiative to bring joy to children in need around the world. Through our partnership with FCA, AIA, and Samaritan’s Purse, we’ll be packing shoeboxes (this Saturday, 11/15) filled with gifts and essentials for kids who might not otherwise receive a Christmas present.

Each shoebox costs about $50–$55 to fill with quality items, and we’ll be purchasing the majority of our gifts this upcoming Friday, 11/14. Every donation directly helps us buy toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other meaningful gifts that make these boxes special.

All UVA teams are also competing to see who can pack the most shoeboxes, and we are aiming to take the title. Your support helps us get there — and, more importantly, enables us to share our blessings with children who truly need some hope this holiday season.
