New update as of Feb 1, 2026. Nicole has been through so so much! She is so strong. Now with that part out if the way let's get to the heartbreak and disappointment of this situation. So on Thursday Jan 29th she was being brought down for a swallow test. The nurse that was helping her dropped her. For those of you that aren't aware there is nerve damage to her right leg due to the ecmo. She can't stand or walk on her own and has to depend on everyone to even do the smallest task like use the restroom. Ok back to Thursday. The nurse dropped her on the floor. There was a transport employee in the room. He attempted to pick her up but did not doing it correctly and ripped open her incision. This is about a 12-14 inch gapping hole under her breast wrapping around to her side. She is now on a wound vac due to this negligence. She needs our help as much now as ever before. She is dealing with so much. When she gets out she is going to need a vehicle for transportation, housing, a way to feed her kids u til she is healthy enough to work again. I know you have all already helped so much so asking for more help seems weird but I ask from the bottom of my heart. She really needs us. Please every single dollar helps. Every share spreads the word even further. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤️- Alana

Here we are with another update. Nicole had a double lung transplant on December 21st. She is a trooper and doing well. They were able to remove her from the ecmo machine. She had to have a tracheostomy. So she can't talk right now. She is doing her best to communicate with the family and friends that have been with her. She has had people rotating in and out since before the transplant. We are so beyond grateful for each of them and their dedication to Nicole. The hospital has been amazing. She has a long journey of healing and maintaining the new lungs. When she is moved out of ICU she will have sometime in the hospital then will transition into an apartment style situation. She will require 24/7 care which will be done by the family and friends. This will cost a minimum of $45 a day. She still has other bills and kids to support as well. Please help spread the word and prayers. Every dollar helps tremendously. Again, from the bottom of my heart and the hearts of our family thank you. Thank you for the love you have shown her and continue to show her.
I wanted to add an update. So since the hospital in Houston decided Nicole couldn't have a transplant there due to some paperwork issues and because her health has declined she had to move to Tennessee with her Dad. This was extremely hard on her and all of her but also has a huge impact on her kids. They are now split with the girls being in Tennessee and Aries being here in Texas. This disease has stolen so much from her and from them. But God had a plan! We went from no transplant to in the hospital preparing to be listed and hopefully getting new lungs. With all of that being said she needs help financially more than ever before. After the transplant she will have to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital. This means having to get an apartment or some sort of housing while she is recovering. In addition to that she will need transportation since she no longer has a vehicle. They put her on a machine called an ECMO that takes her blood out of her body adds oxygen to it and returns it to her body. This is a last ditch effort to keep her other organs healthy enough for a transplant. Every single dollar helps her. All of the prayers you can through out and shares help so so much. I know this was long but it is alot of info

My name is Alana Neal. Nicole is my cousin. She has pulmonary hypertension, and due to the pulmonary hypertension, she is in heart failure. To help repair her heart and extend her life, she needs a double lung transplant.

We started the process this past Friday, September 26th, and found out that we will have multiple appointments in Houston, Texas, which is a good 4 hours from our home. We are hoping to raise enough money to help fund those trips, but also to help support her and her 3 children while she's waiting to get on disability. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have, and even if it's a five-dollar donation, every little bit helps.
