Marcus Moore Stage 5 Kidney Disease The Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Melissa Taylor. I am the mother of DeMarcus (Moose) Moore.(33) He is the son of Keith Moore from Chicago Il the Grandson Of Jesse and Barbara Johnson of Glenwood Ga As everyone knows, he has been pretty sick since the age of 10, diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes with an initial blood sugar level of 1,076. We have been on this journey together for 23 years. I, along with my parents, family, and close friends who have faithfully been here through all the ups and downs, I appreciate you all. Marcus has been through a lot in the past couple of years.

He now has Stage 5 Renal Kidney Disease and is in dire need of a transplant. He also needs a pancreas that was damaged due to the diabetes. He also has high blood pressure, ulcers, and just recently had a blood vessel burst in both of his eyes Surgery is needed; he has had one surgery already on one of his eyes he has also had a Fistula procedure it creates a connection between an artery and a vein in the arm to provide access for hemodialysis he has an upcoming surgery this Wednesday. He is currently on dialysis three times a week. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays He is in good spirits most of the time. We will soon be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Florida or Piedmont in Atlanta Ga for appointments to meet with a team of kidney specialists to start the process for a kidney transplant and speak with them also about a new pancreas. We will need help with housing, food, transportation, and other things. Any donations, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, please keep us in your prayers.
