Luca June here, reaching out to you for support. If I’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s recognizing that friends and community want to help and support in ways they are able - I just have to be willing to continue to be transparent and vulnerable and put the ask out there and the universe will catch me. Still hard, though ;)

That being said, I’ve come to the decision with a painful clarity that I need to address a living change with and for my oldest child. This is probably one of, if not the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. This has come with months, if not years of processing and doing everything and more in order to provide him with every service and support imaginable to address his complex life experience and needs, including ASD, ADHD, CHARGE syndrome, PTSD, and more. As he has continued to develop and mature and due to a number of recent incidents, his needs and supports are only continuing to increase in intensity. I’ve started working with a gem of an attorney to propose some amendments to my original Judgement of Divorce with my co-parent in order to ensure that while I may be looking to adjust his physical time living in my home, I’m in no way looking to reduce my involvement in his life or care. Which is why I’m making sure to higher the help of an attorney to advocate for me legally to ensure I’m covering all of my bases with how unique the situation is.

Despite knowing that I’m making the right decision and am moving forward in the process, I’m still financially strapped after just recently moving, navigating single parent life, and my private practice still being new and taking the time it needs to grow and flourish. So I’m looking for your help and support to obtain the funds I’m needing to work with my attorney, which includes a $600 retainer as well as 2-3 hours of time (at $390 an hour). So my goal is to raise approximately $1,700 to be on the safe side.
