Hi, this is Susan, and I am asking you to help me protect my granddaughter.

On March 31st my 16 y/o granddaughter, showed up at my house having been kicked out by her dad (my son). Once here, she began opening up about the mental and emotional abuse and neglect she and her brothers have been going through. As she was technically a runaway, we sought help for her through the various assistance programs in town. This resulted in an ODHS investigation on her behalf against her dad. As the mere mention of going back to her home brought a look of total fear to her face, my husband and I were told that as long as the investigation was open, she could stay with us.

This was only the beginning. In the past 6 weeks we have endured a smear campaign in which my son put out lies to set the path for his future actions. He has called the police on us; filed multiple legal motions claiming horrible slanderous things about us, in an attempt to get the courts to force his daughter back home. So far, we have been able to keep her in our home, but I was forced to move out and hire a lawyer due to a fabricated a restraining order against me. I am currently living in a motel and our expenses are escalating.

In addition to legal expenses, we have had to buy virtually everything a teenage girl needs, including clothes and furniture; as he has allowed very few things to be delivered to her.

Anything helps, even if all you can do is pass this request on to your friends. So far I have spent over $7000.00, and I have no idea where this is going to stop. All I know is that for the sake of my grandchildren I can’t stop.
