My name is Haillie and this is my dog Lyra.

I got Lyra two years ago when I was 17. She is a registered emotional support animal and I’ve had her for two years.

Two days ago, Lyra started acting weird, then I noticed a lump on her neck. This has happened once before, and my uncle (Robert, bless his soul) helped me pay for the surgery to get the abscess drained.

She has a lot of loose skin and muscles in her neck, and it’s easy for small particles to get stuck in her cheek and work their way into her neck tissues.

The veterinarian has given me an estimate of $736-$1,167

That price includes : blood work, sedation, injections, surgery and medicine.

I am 19 years old, raising my 14-year-old sister, and I am already in debt. I can’t get a credit card, and I can’t get approved for any loans, even pet care related.

This is genuinely my last resort and I love my dog more than anything in the world. I do not want to surrender her, but if that is my only option, I will do what I need to do to keep her alive. If you’re a dog owner, you know how it feels. She’s my soulmate, my emotional support animal, and my baby.
