May 23rd, a beautiful miracle was brought into this world: Hastings Wade Pratt at 1 lb, 10 inches long, and he has been fighting for his life with his little fist in the air. (My sister said he’s fighting for his right to party.) He’s a fighter. He’s already stolen this Nanna’s heart, and the love his parents and his whole family have for him is immeasurable.

I’m new to the NICU world, but all I can say is wow! There are so many ups and downs and unknowns, holding your breath for the next report. The prayers, the worry, the medical terms alone send your head spinning. The stress of knowing holding your baby, being near them is what helps them thrive but not being able to is agonizing for his parents. Scary tests, the scans, all just so much.
