Candice is an amazing friend and single mother who we met through our organizing work. She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was eight years old, and in the past few years has had to go on dialysis while she awaits a kidney transplant. Because of this, she has been unable to work and has experienced housing insecurity while she waits on government benefit programs to kick in.

Candice just moved into a new, safe apartment, but is severely financially strained after spending all her remaining money on moving and keeping her and her daughter safe while in between homes. She needs money for the basics: food, transportation, and hygiene and cleaning products.
