MaKenna (or as her students call her, Mrs. A) teaches 1st grade at Eureka Elementary and Michael is one of our wonderful local deputy sheriffs. They’re happily expecting their 3rd child this June, but, unfortunately, Baby Boy Avila is trying to make his way into this world a little too early. After experiencing some complications when MaKenna’s water broke at only 22 weeks along, she was admitted to the hospital and will remain there until the baby is born. Hopefully, that will be quite a while, as he still has more growing to do and needs to be as strong as possible to make his entrance. The family has a long road ahead of them and, in the meantime, Michael is still working amidst traveling back and forth between here and Kalispell to bring their two young daughters to see their mom as well. When Baby Boy does decide to make an appearance, he will, undoubtedly, be spending time in the NICU, and round two of the family’s struggles will begin. Meanwhile, MaKenna is missing her students terribly, Michael is having to fill the role of both parents, the bills are piling high, and “sick” days are running low.
Any generosity you can spare to help this local family in need will be greatly appreciated.
