Donate to provide these orphans in Haiti housing

I originally set this fundraiser up to provide as many meals as I could as their caretaker, Diony, works each day and struggles to feed them all. Diony recently had to move all the children to a different city because it has become unsafe with extreme violence and gunfire. He now needs a place to house the children in a new town. He needs $2000 which will secure him a room for the girls and a room for the boy for the next 3 years. This would be an incredible support and gift for these people and allow Diony to put his energy into keeping the children fed.

Help Diony keep 50 orphans fed that he has taken in off the streets of Haiti.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the border of Haiti in the Dominican Republic where I met Diony, a hardworking young man who pours each day of his efforts and resources into providing for roughly 50 orphans in Haiti. Diony’s top priority is keeping these children fed, and beyond that, he does everything he can to educate them so they can be independent and have a chance on their own someday. This is a difficult task because the miscellaneous work Diony finds is usually 3 hours away from the orphans, and so to just keep them fed means he is not with them.

I witnessed so many hardworking people who work long hours and struggle to provide for just themselves and their families. There is no government support or easy avenue for security for orphans in Haiti, and so Diony’s effort to support kids he finds on the streets is a heroic act he takes upon himself. The ultimate goal and dream for these children is to not only clothe, shelter, and feed them, but to educate them. He tells me he is goal is to get them enrolled in school by September. Diony and a few of his friends do not have the resources to accomplish all this alone. These are very hard workers, and with your help, I aim to offer them whatever relief we can.

I set the financial goal for this GoFundMe based on the approximate amount it takes to feed all the kids under Diony’s care for half a year. Any amount you can pitch in will truly make an impact for these kids. Diony is in search of a more sustainable and consistent solution for his kids, but when it is a struggle to feed them each day, there is no time or resources left for anything more.

If anyone has any ideas of a way to support Diony with a more consistent system, that would be a gift beyond any donation and a step towards not only feeding but bettering the lives of these orphans. Meeting Diony and hearing how hard he works and how much he cares about others encouraged me to gather what I can for him. The money I can raise here I will wire directly to Diony to feed the orphans he has taken off the streets. With whatever you are called to give, we are going to make a huge difference in the lives of these children and help Diony put his attention to use creating a better and more sustainable environment for them.
