Karlie is my great niece that was just blessed with the birth of beautiful twin girls at 31 weeks. Her story is below. I wanted to share because she will not ask for help or money on her own. They live 50 miles from the hospital and Stella and Ivorie will need their momma every day to stay healthy. The donations will go towards food, gas money and initial baby expenses as they will be in NICU for 4-5 weeks. Thank you in advance.
Hello everyone, the moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived and many of you are eager for an update. I completely understand your anticipation, but I appreciate your patience as I'll share the update before my discharge. Our twins have made their entrance into the world, and I'm thrilled to announce that they're here! Although they'll be in the NICU for about 4-5 weeks, they're remarkably healthy for 31-week-old twins. Our smallest baby is Ivorie, and our firstborn Stella is ready to take on the world. The nurses in the NICU often comment on how vocal they are, saving their loudest cries for when dad and I are in the room. They're little angels, and our hearts are overflowing with love. To ensure I can focus on my recovery, I'd prefer no unannounced visitors for now, and I may need to reschedule planned visits. Delivering the girls early has been a stressful and emotional journey, but I'm doing okay, managing high blood pressure. After delivering two babies naturally in just 5 1/2 pushes, I felt an indescribable sense of joy when I heard baby Stella cry on my chest. It was quickly followed by her sister's birth, and I was taken aback by how small she was. But as soon as they both let out their first screams, I knew everything was going to be okay. We cherished a few precious moments of skin-to-skin, and dad, Camren, was hooked from the very start. He's been an absolute rockstar, helping with pumping and so much more. Camren Pierotti, I couldn't have navigated this journey without your love and support. Your strength and encouragement mean the world to me, and I'm grateful for how you've stepped up. When I had to push through the contractions, your facial expressions gave me the courage to keep going. Although I had an epidural, there was a window where it didn't work, and I felt every bit of the twins' arrival on the right half of my lower body. But we did it, and our girls are here, thanks to your unwavering support and love. Camren Pierotti, you even got to cut their umbilical cords, a memory you'll always treasure. With much love and appreciation, thank you all once again. As we navigate the next few days, we may take a bit longer to respond and accept visitors, but we're grateful for your understanding. It's a bittersweet day as we prepare to leave the hospital without our baby girls, but we're staying positive and focusing on their progress.
