Many of you know Jeff Miller by sight, wearing his trademark bright yellow jacket and hat, and press pass around his neck. He is at every Summit sporting event, whether it be wrestling, football, cheer, dance, swimming, basketball, hockey, volleyball, soccer, baseball, or track and field events. Many days, he is taking pictures of multiple events in the same day, driving many miles, and spending hours upon hours not only taking the photos but editing them, posting them to share, and providing us with insight and summary of the event. He is there with his camera to take pictures of all the action. His pictures capture and document the event from a point of view many of us as parents and spectators are not able to see. The perfect pictures, showcasing the vast array of emotions right in the midst of the battle, from the thrill of victory, and sometimes the agony of defeat of our student athletes. He does all of this as a volunteer.
Unfortunately, this past weekend, Jeff met with a terrible accident while at the regional wrestling tournament. He tripped on a corner of a wrestling mat, and fell and hit his head on the door while leaving the gym. He damaged his primary camera lens and ended up in the ER. Fortunately, there were no major injuries, and he is at home, healing and recovering.
This fundraiser is to raise money to replace some of his damaged camera equipment and help with his medical costs.
