Donate to Idaho Chess Association's Growth

The Idaho Chess Association (ICA), established in 1947, is a not-for-profit, member-supported corporation promoting the game of chess throughout Idaho. We are the official State Affiliate of the United States Chess Federation (USCF). The Idaho Chess Association is an IRS 501(c)(3) section non-profit charity organization since 2018. All donations are used to fulfill ICA's Mission and Vision.

We organize official chess tournaments and bestow various official titles such as Idaho State Chess Champion or Idaho Scholastic Chess Champion for adults and children. We also support our representatives at national events.

We support and promote chess all around the great state of Idaho. We have a rich history and sense of tradition and leadership that takes the noble game of chess to the highest standards and levels of competition throughout Idaho. We have supported over 45 events this past year, and players request more tournaments and club support.

Increased venue, scholarship requests, club chess board support, and trophy costs currently stretch our budget. We also recently lost a dear patron who donated $2,500 in matching funds, which helped us raise funds and meet the budget demands. Our Board of Directors are all volunteers.

Our goal is to keep tournament costs down, currently $30 per event compared to other states, which are over $100.

Here are our current needs:

replacement chess sets

chess clocks

liability insurance

signs and banners

scoresheets

awards

website costs

sponsorship for Idaho representatives at Nationals

. . . and much more
