My name is Dr. James Palmer, and I am launching a major new performing arts series called Point of Departure: Houston's Classical Music Variety Show.

My goal for this series is to showcase the best Houston performers and composers through highly engaging performances inspired by 1970s variety shows. Expect skits, costumes, banter, and more! We have three shows planned for season 1:

American Landscapes (December 7, 2026)

Create Your Own Adventure! (February 8, 2027)

This project is generously supported by a SACI award from the Houston Arts Alliance, but in order to put on the three fabulous shows planned for season 1, we need your help to raise $10,000. These funds will go directly toward artist fees — paying the fantastic musicians, lighting designers, and more who will bring these shows to life.
