When my wife and I said our vows in June 2024, we never imagined that only six months into our marriage she would be fighting for her life. She was diagnosed with stage 3b triple-negative breast cancer—a diagnosis that flipped our world upside down.

Instead of enjoying the joys of newlywed life, our first year together has been filled with overnight ER visits, chemotherapy, and the fear of what tomorrow might bring. Watching the woman I love battle through indescribable pain and uncertainty for her life, yet still find the strength to smile, humbled me in ways I can’t put into words. She is now in remission thanks to the experts at MD Anderson, and while I am endlessly grateful, the journey has left us with lasting challenges.
