Donate to help me make a home for my mom with us

Short version: I am trying to renovate my basement to provide my mom a place to live so she can be with family instead of alone or in a facility.

My mom, Debbie Carroll, is the most giving person I know. She has worked hard to raise two generations of her kids and grandkids not to mention lots of kids from our neighborhood and church. Her life as a pastor's wife put her in the path of many that needed help and she always did all that she could. Often too much if we're being honest<3

She has had 3 years of real hardship with the loss of her daughter and then husband less than a year apart and a spinal chord injury that put her in a wheel chair. With her declining health, it has become increasingly harder for her to care for her Grand-daughter. So recently, her Grand-daughter came to live with me, her son, Matthew.

Unfortunately this has left her in a house all by herself and with her health challenges, this is not safe and it isn't a happy place for her to be as social as she is. I recently bought a home. And when I purchased it I had intended to one day convert the basement into an apartment for her but I didn't expect it to be needed as soon as it was and with the home purchase, my money and credit are tapped out. I just don't have the means to do this immeadiately. I tried borrowing it, but couldn't get approved with the new house on my credit. So we find ourselves $28,000 shy of being able to create a space where she can come and live with us and can be a daily part of our lives and her Grand-daughter's life.

Every little bit helps. I am still scrounging together whatever I can to get there. I just don't think I can do it in a reasonible time frame. I fear I would be leaving her living on her own for far too long. She really doesn't feel ready for assisted living or something like that so I'm making this gofundme to do whatever I can to keep her where she wants to be.
