Changing needs in the Community

We are a small group that takes food from supermarkets that they would throw in landfill due to short dates. We take that food & distribute it to people that are struggling to Eat or Heat. We get donations from the stores but not basics. We have petfood & ladies products free too

Bartley Green & Northfield are particularly deprived areas so we do not require referrals or vouchers… need food come get some. We are an emergency supply we do not replace their normal shop but help out.

So we can continue helping we need more funds.

please donate so we can help those worse off than ourselves. We are all volunteers but after a year of giving food out of the boot of my car on the roadside we have finally got a place of our own. We have now opened BGN COMMUNITY FRIDGE Hillwood Cafe. 40 Hillwood Road Bartley Green Birmingham B311DJ. Open 0900-1500 Monday to Friday & Saturday 0900-1200.

The COMMUNITY FRIDGE is open THURSDAY 0945 until the food has all gone.

Our service has grown and a new initiative is to open LBGTQ+ cafe several evenings. Privately. The Gay Quarter in Birmingham Town Centre is being demolished & redeveloped leaving them nowhere to go to meet up safely, warm, private and have access to DV,, Rape & Councelling by or new Councellor Colunteer.

We know EVERYONE is suffering at the moment but when parents either have to choose HEAT the house or the Kids EAT. They need help. EVEN £1 HELPS!

The funds will be spent on utility bills , food , beverages, advertising, training of our Councellor & possible future volunteers from the LGBTQ+ community.

We offer free food to the wider community as well as access to DV/ Violence , Drug Councellor , designated Warm Welcome Space and safe space for those fleeing DV .Holiday Hunger Cafe offering a picnic lunch for children for £2. A hot or cold sandwich/ bun, crisps & a drink.

All this takes money and we do not have any. Please can you help us.
