The Switzerland National U17 Cricket Team will be touring Cape Town, South Africa, from the 18th -23rd of February 2024. As part of the tour we will be visiting the township of Langa and the Vuka Nomtobhoyi Orphanage. It was established early 2000s by Mama Patricia Nomute. The conditions the children live in are dire - thirty children aged between 4 and 12, living in three bunk beds (3 kids per single mattress generally) and with no running water. They require food and various clothing and schooling materials as this is hard to come given their situation. Although Mama Patricia does receive government subsidies for most of the children living in the orphanage, this is just never enough.
As the Swiss Cricket Team and management, we look forward to spending some time with the kids of the Vuka Nomtobhoyi Orphanage, perhaps even playing cricket with them and giving them some of our time. Your generosity would allow us to show our support for Mama, and the work that she and the other carers do, by handing over a practical donation that can really help them with their basic needs. Thank you very much for your support!
